International Student Services
Student Support provides assistance services with many issues for students such as visa, housing and employment while studying at the University of Essex. The welcome week is also held at each beginning of the semester, accompanied by the information you need to know before departure, orientation and school events. Heathrow and Gatwick Airport pick-up service and the campus transfer at Colchester are also arranged in each early school year.
The school’s Website also offers a wealth of information from immigration, finance and academic skills to travel, all in order to make it easier for international students to get into the life here. The Free academic English program is also held in the autumn and spring and has skills training, from grammar to academic skills.
Accommodation
The place in the school will be guaranteed for all international students during the study period and includes a spacious apartment of 16 people with a communal kitchen with close to 1/2 number of rooms with en-suite. Essex University is one of the few universities in the UK to be awarded the International Housing Quality Score Award, with 90% of international students satisfied with the conditions of living in the campus housing area. In the National Student Housing Survey, the school was runners-up in 2010 and 2011 and won in the 2009 prize.
Entry requirements
– Academic: Students have a good level(~ 2.5/4.0 or 6.5/10).
– Foreign Language:
+ Reserve Course (Foundation): IELTS 5.0 or TOEFL 61
+ Undergraduate: IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL 76
+ Graduate Level: IELTS 6.5 – 7.0 and equivalent TOEFL
– Other requirements: With the medicine and MBA industry, the school requires a recommendation letter from a reputable teacher/instructor.
